This is not The Nutcracker you’re thinking of. Well, it’s the same story, but as the hashtag points out this is #nottheballet. This version of the famous Christmas story, directed by Kristianne Kurner, runs at Carlsbad’s New Village Arts Theatre from November 29 to December 31, 2014.
A fresh take on this holiday classic centers on young Clara’s journey to save Christmas with the help of a magical nutcracker. This modern production weaves together magic, original song and spellbinding spectacle – fit for the whole family! West Coast Premiere. . .
