Carlsbad Gourmet On The Food Network

Carlsbad’s own fine food company The Carlsbad Gourmet will be featured on the first episode of the Food Network’s brand new show Road Tasted with the Neely’s.

The new program is a mix of two shows from last season Road Tasted and Down Home with the Neelys. Now, rather than cooking at home Pat and Gina Neely are hitting the road “in search of the best local, handcrafted foods along with finding all sorts of people, personalities and adventure along the way.” Their first stop: Carlsbad to spend the day with Russ Bruhn in the Carlsbad Strawberry Fields.

Airing July 13, 2008, the show will feature the Carlsbad Gourmet’s Strawberry Jalapeño Spread along with their “Award Winning Ruby Red Strawberry BBQ Sauce.” Not to mention amazing views of both the Strawberry Fields and The Flower Fields.

It’s nice to see Carlsbadistan getting a little national recognition for fine flavors. Now, we just need to taste some to see if it really lives up to the hype.

CARLSBAD GOURMET TO APPEAR ON FOOD NETWORK

(June 4, 2008) Carlsbad Gourmet, a local company that manufactures products using local ingredients, will make its debut on the Food Network. The Food Network’s popular show “Road Tasted” will be returning this season with new hosts. “Road Tasted with the Neely’s,” hosted by Gina and Pat Neely, will begin its first season by featuring Carlsbad Gourmet on its opening show on Sunday, July 13, 2008. Over 2 million viewers are expected to watch.

Road Tasted follows Gina and Pat around the country in search of the best local, handcrafted foods along with finding all sorts of people, personalities and adventure along the way. The show offers a fresh, fun look at unique specialty foods and family run businesses that make one of-a-kind edibles. One of the most appealing parts of the show is that they will show you how to get all of those foods delivered right to your door.

In this episode the Neely’s will feature Carlsbad Gourmet’s incredible tasting Strawberry Jalapeño Spread along with their delicious Award Winning Ruby Red Strawberry BBQ Sauce. The Ruby Red Strawberry BBQ Sauce is sweetened with the sugar from strawberries and combined with beer brewed locally by Green Flash Brewing Company. The result is an amazing BBQ Sauce made with that local North County twang.
