by The Editors on July 9, 2008

Car TheftAccording to a report released today by the National Insurance Crime Bureau there were 28,074 car thefts in the “San Diego Carlsbad San Marcos” area last year or one car stolen for every 943.71 people.

That gives Carlsbadistan a 33% share of the bronze medal in the car theft Olympics. Gold goes to Modesto, CA and Silver to Las Vegas/Paradise, NV.

The car most often stolen? The 1995 Honda Civic. Apparently, it parts out really well.
