Carlsbad Street Fair: Fall 2008

Don’t know what it was about the Carlsbadistan Street Faire, but today we actually had fun. The streets were packed, the sun was out, then it rained to cool things off a little, and then the sun came back out again.

Sure, many of the booths were stacked full of junk we wouldn’t even haul to the Goodwill, but it was so good seeing the streets filled with smiling faces that not even a fire-and-brimstone street preacher could bring us down.

We didn’t count, but it looked a lot like the biggest and best Street Faire ever. Follow the jump for all the photos.

No one goes hungry at Street Faire. In fact, most really pack it in all day long.

Thirsty? Kristin, Camille, Kelsey, and Sarah from the Carlsbad High School Excalibur Dancers had water for only $1 a bottle.

Manic street preacher spreading the word of God to the “drinkers and fornicators” of Carlsbadistan. But he wasn’t talking about us. Seriously.

Great to see everybody today at the street fair! We had fun down on State Street at Snyder Art and Design discussing everything from Richard Riehl’s recent article posted here, to giving art for holiday gifts, to the economy, to voter turnout Tuesday, to local politics, to Friday’s Halloween costumes which included Andy Warhol. Big thanks to our very talented host, Bryan Snyder. Some people dropped by with questions for me while I was out campaigning in the crowds so sorry I missed you; feel free to email or call me anytime. Contact info on my website; tons of new articles and links on it, updated daily.
