When Carlsbadistan’s Jennifer Cushman, 26, died May 19, 2008 after brain surgery at Tri-City Medical Center she helped save four people by donating her organs. Today, Cushman along with 37 other organ donors, are being “honored New Year’s Day with a floral tribute during the annual Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena,” according to a story in the North County Times.
Her organs helped save the lives of four people including a 14-year-old girl, said Sharon Ross, a spokeswoman for the nonprofit organ-donation organization, Donate Life California, and outreach manager for Donate Life’s chapter serving San Diego and Imperial counties.
