Clip Image004Born in Haiti, Des Rosiers left the island at age 12 and moved to Montreal, where she earned a degree in fine arts from Université de Montréal and studied Creative Process at UCSD. Now a resident of Cardiff, Des Rosiers has exhibited in Europe, the Caribbean, Canada and the United States. Her latest work, a series of portraits of imaginative people’s faces, was exhibited during the summer of 2008 in Bourges, France.

Des Rosiers, who paints in both oils and acrylics with palette knives, studied the chiaroscuro technique to enhance her portraits. Since her professional debut, nature, human condition and emotion have been essential components of her creative process. Strong, vivid portraits, landscapes and village scenes tell multicultural stories. She explores the iconography technique to transport the viewer to a particular climate, time or place reminiscent of her Haitian origins.
