Carlsbad’s Family Film Night in July

Movie NightCan you say FREE MOVIES? During the month of July the Carlsbad City Library will be presenting its Wednesday night Carlsbad Film Series. The films celebrate Children’s Summer Reading Program 2007 with the mystery theme “Get a Clue @ Your Library.” The movies (The Great Mouse Detective, Get A Clue, and Spy Kids) will screen in the Ruby G. MouseWednesday, July 11 at 6pm: The Great Mouse Detective
(1986, rated G, run time 72 minutes)

There’s action, mystery and comedy afoot when super sleuth Basil of Baker Street returns to match wits with his old nemesis, Professor Ratigan, in Disney Studios’ full-length animated feature. Featuring music by Academy Award-winner Henry Mancini, this delightful comedy-caper follows our hero as he pursues his evil rival from the depths of London’s sewers to the dizzying heights of Big Ben’s clocktower.

Thirteen-year-old Turtle discovers the body of a reclusive millionaire. Mystery surrounds the case after she learns that the person who solves the case will be awarded $20 million. Starring Sally Kirkland, Ray Walston, Diane Ladd and Ashley Peldon.

SpykidsWednesday, July 25 at 6pm: Spy Kids
(2001, rated PG, run time 88 minutes)

When two of the world’s top secret agents,Gregorio (Antonio Banderas) and Ingrid Cortez (Carla Gugino), are kidnapped it’s up to their children to save them. Carmen (Alexa Vega) and Juni (Daryl Sabara) take on evil technowizard Fegan Floop (Alan Cumming) to save their parents in this family adventure.
