Carlsbad Stamp Designer Gets Two More

by The Editors on March 18, 2009

StampsOn January, 16, 2009 Carl T. Herrman, Carlsbadistan’s premiere US Postal Service stamp designer, helped launch to new priority mail stamps at the SANDICAL Stamp Show in San Diego, CA.

The 2009 Express Mail stamp depicts Yellowstone National Park’s Old Faithful erupting in the warm glow of an autumn sunset while several bison graze nearby. The 2009 Priority Mail stamp, paying tribute to America’s redwood forests, depicts two people walking through a forest of redwood trees. Both stamps are digital illustrations produced by stamp artist Dan Cosgrove of Clarendon Hills, IL, under the direction of art director Carl T. Herrman of Carlsbad, CA.

Sorry we missed it. . . because there ain’t no party like a stamp launch party.

I’m looking for Carl. T. Herrman. I don’t know if this is his reply page or not. If its not please forward it on to him. I last spoke with Carl at the California Surf Museum in Oceanside Ca. back 3 or 4 years ago. I need to pick Carls brain regarding our mutual past for a new book that I’m putting together. If Carl could E-Mail me his phone number it would be great. I’m leaving to go on tour March 27th for four weeks.
Thanks
John Gundersen
