Carlsbad Sheraton Gets New GM

DraperThe Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa which opened on February 25, 2008 has announced that Chris Draper is the new general manager.

Draper is the former Executive Director of Food and Beverage for Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort which includes 28 food and beverage outlets and expansive catering operations. In addition, his position also oversaw the facilitation of the contract for the acclaimed Patina Restaurant Group affiliation with the mountain. . . Prior to that, Draper worked 25 years with the Hyatt Hotel Corporation where he was a general manager and held various food and beverage management positions.

Wonder if Mr. Draper is going to miss all that snow? We certainly do.
SHERATON CARLSBAD RESORT ANNOUNCES NEW GENERAL MANAGER

CARLSBAD, CA (April 29, 2008) – Chris Draper was named the new general manager of the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa effective immediately. He is joining the North San Diego County resort as it begins its second year of operation. The announcement was made by Rick Mansur, president/ CEO of Azul Hospitality Group, management company for the Sheraton Carlsbad.

Draper is the former Executive Director of Food and Beverage for Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort which includes 28 food and beverage outlets and expansive catering operations. In addition, his position also oversaw the facilitation of the contract for the acclaimed Patina Restaurant Group affiliation with the mountain.

Prior to that, Draper worked 25 years with the Hyatt Hotel Corporation where he was a general manager and held various food and beverage management positions. His most recent positions included General Manager for the Hyatt Arlington (Virginia) and the Hyatt Regency Houston Airport (Texas). In addition, he served in several food and beverage positions at Hyatt Hotels throughout the country, including the opening of the Hyatt Regency San Diego and overseeing the food and beverage operations of the Hyatt Newport Beach (Newport Beach, CA). He was also involved in numerous hotel openings, re-branding of properties and special projects within regional Hyatt hotels.

Draper is known for attention to detail, extensive hotel experience in all levels of operations and commitment to the communities where he lives and works. At the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa he joins an accomplished staff as it enters its second summer, offering 250 guest rooms, the Ocean Pearl Spa, and Twenty/20 Grill & Wine Bar. He and wife and children are currently relocating to Carlsbad to live full time.
