What easier way to help the Boys and Girls Club of Carlsbad than to drop off some almost new items that can be sold on ebay. That what Kids Helping Kids is doing. They turn your cast-offs into cash for the club.

Taylor Chapin (pictured far left), one of the founders of Kids Helping Kids effort said, “I can’t imagine a better way to spend part of my summer than helping the Boys & Girls Club. I see first-hand how they’ve made such a positive impact on so many kids and I simply just wanted to do my part to contribute.”

Kids Helping Kids is looking for donations of new and lightly used goods to resell on ebay to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Carlsbad.

(Carlsbad, CA, July 2, 2009) – Inspired by four San Diegueto Academy students, Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad has partnered with these soon to be seniors on an exciting fund raising program. Recognizing that current economic times are tough, making it hard for many to give cash donations to this all important kids destination, these high school girls have organized a “Kids Helping Kids” fundraiser that is asking the community to donate items that can be resold on ebay to help support the Club.

These young and budding philanthropists have made it very simple for the local community to help and it won’t cost donors a dime; help that will make an enormous difference in the lives of countless North County kids. Kids Helping Kids is asking members of the community to search their closets, garages, and attics for those any items that are in great shape, but maybe no longer used. The girls at Kids Helping Kids say the best items for resale on ebay that will raise the most funds for the Club are designer clothes, fashion hats, belts, purses, shoes, small, working electronic goods and sporting goods. The best items have brand names.

It is best if the items are new or just gently used, and are appropriate for shipping. Donations cannot be too big or heavy as it is difficult to ship these items. Also, items that are broken, torn, or otherwise not appropriate for resale cannot be accepted.

Asked on her thoughts about Kids Helping Kids, Kelly Morrison-Pop, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Carlsbad said, “We’re extremely grateful to all of our donors for they are the lifeblood of our organization. In the case of the these young ladies and their Kids Helping Kids program, it is particularly gratifying to see the peers of our members making this incredible effort.”
