Carlsbad Chamber Launches New Website

by The Editors on December 3, 2009

Chamber SiteThe Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce is apparently happy to announce the launch of their entirely redesigned website.

The new, clean look offers improved navigation and better organization, adding to the already outstanding aspects of the Web site, such as the business directory, which is the most utilized feature. The site also has a new section for attractions and a new calendar that makes it easier to find and register for events, workshops and seminars hosted by the chamber.

The site was designed and built by Carlsbadistan based Lynch Interactive and we have to agree that Jeff Lynch and his crew did a great job getting a lot of information into the site, not to mention putting some social media connections up front and center. Follow the jump for all the details.
Carlsbad Chamber debuts redesigned Web site

The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce recently unveiled its revamped Web site, www.carlsbad.org, as part of its commitment to provide its members and the community with convenient access to sought-after information.

The new, clean look offers improved navigation and better organization, adding to the already outstanding aspects of the Web site, such as the business directory, which is the most utilized feature. The site also has a new section for attractions and a new calendar that makes it easier to find and register for events, workshops and seminars hosted by the chamber.

The business directory and visitor section are featured on the home page based on data that shows those are the most utilized sections of the site. This makes it easier for the largest number of users to quickly find the information they’re looking for.

The improved visitors section now has ability to highlight all of Carlsbad’s attractions with a separate photo gallery for each. Those who don’t feel their attractions are adequately represented can e-mail photographs and content to aholman@carlsbad.org.

“Our focus for the coming year is Membership Counts! We want our members to do business with members and we want visitors to find our members easily on our Web site,” said Toni Padron, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the chamber. “This redesign will assist us in accomplishing those goals.”

The enhanced site has the capability for expanded functionality, including a job board. Once the chamber receives job listings, those items will be posted.

Another improvement is the functionality of the site administration, making it easier for chamber staff members to keep it regularly updated and current.

In addition to the spots the site has always had for banner ads, there are now more advertising opportunities for chamber members to promote their businesses. There is a large ad available on the homepage and space for an ad at the top of each category in the business directory.

Lynch Interactive redesigned the site. The Carlsbad-based company has been working with the Carlsbad Chamber for a number of years and thoroughly understands the unique needs of a chamber of commerce Web site.

“We’re proud to work with the Carlsbad Chamber to continually evolve its Web site to be the best chamber site out there,” said Jeff Lynch, president of Lynch Interactive. “Together, we will ensure the site is a functional tool for visitors and members alike.”

Lynch Interactive is a full-service Web development and marketing firm specializing in advanced, database-driven Web sites and online business functionality.
