The Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad is going before City Planning Commission this Wednesday night to get the go ahead for a 18,600-square-foot, $7 million youth center in Carlsbad’s Bressi Ranch development.
Proposed to open in 2009, the new clubhouse would feature a gymnasium as well as computer labs, a teen room and other recreation areas. On school days, the facility would open to kids after 2:30 p.m. Weekend sports program hours would be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. During the summer, weekday hours would be from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., a city report states.
