Boys & Girls Club Memories Gala Nets $180,000

The Boys & Girls Club Memories Gala, held October 16, 2010, in the Del Sol Ballroom at the La Costa Resort, netted a whopping $180,000, according to information released by the Clubs.

“I am so proud of the fun, memorable evening we created,” said Chair Barbi Nelson. “And, thanks to the talented members of the event committee, we were able to raise significant funds that will benefit our community’s children.”

Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad Gala Nets $180,000

(Carlsbad, CA – November 9, 2010) The martinis were chilled, the mood was celebratory, and a terrific time was had by the nearly 500 guests who attended Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad’s “Memories” Gala. Just over $180,000 was raised at the black tie event held at La Costa Resort and Spa’s Costa Del Sol Ballroom on October 16.

The dynamic Wayne Foster Entertainment provided sensational sounds that kept the dance floor packed all night. Additional amusing touches included a 1960s candy bar festooned with pink flamingoes as well as a photo booth complete with dress-up props. The event was emceed by Jim Laslavic, and honored long-time board member Liz Carnes.

Proceeds from the event go directly towards operating funds for Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad, which has played an integral role in the Carlsbad community since 1952.
