Tsunami Expected Around 8:42 AM

A Tsunami triggered by a massive 8.9 earthquake in Japan (2:26 PM March 11, 2011 Japan time, 9:46:23 PM PST) has sent Tsunami waves rolling across the Pacific. Currently, the surge is expected to his San Diego County at approximately 8:41 according to NBC San Diego.

The first waves are expected to hit San Francisco at 8:16 a.m. PT, Santa Barbara at 8:24 a.m. PT, Santa Monica at 8:39 a.m. PT and La Jolla at 8:48 a.m. PT. San Diego beaches are not closed as of 5:30 a.m.

Here are the tentative wave heights:
LA JOLLA……………2.8 FEET
BALLAST POINT……….2.3 FEET
SAN DIEGO NAVY PIER….1.2 FEET
NORTH IMPERIAL BEACH…2.6 FEET
