The Forum Makes It Snow In Carlsbad

On Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 6 – 9 PM The Forum Carlsbad will celebrate their 15th Annual Lighting of the Forum with complimentary refreshments, a stage show by the Crown City Bombers, magical snowfall, a performance by the La Costa Canyon High School Marching Band, and the arrival of Santa Claus on a horse drawn sleigh. Lancer Dancers Annual Holiday Showcase

Carlsbad High School’s 12-time National Champion varsity dance team, the Lancer Dancers, will be performing in their annual holiday dance Showcase Thursday, Dec. 7 through Saturday, Dec. 9, on campus at the Carlsbad Cultural Arts Center. The shows begin at 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and a Saturday matinee is also offered at 2 p.m.

“This special annual program is a great opportunity for family, friends and the community to experience firsthand the elite level of talent the Lancer Dancers work so diligently to achieve,” said Lancer Dancers Booster Club President, Terez Anderson, whose daughter is on the team. “The girls have been working very hard in recent months to perfect their own routines and refine the choreography for the Junior Lancer Dancers in preparation for Showcase.”

It’s All About The Harp Guitar At MoMM

Carlsbad’s Museum of Making Music’s next special exhibition, Floating Strings: The Remarkable Story of the Harp Guitar in America, opens to the public on Saturday, October 14th.

The exhibition includes over 40 beautiful examples of this unique instrument and explores the history of the harp guitar, from its beginnings in Europe to its current status and use in the United States today. In conjunction with this new exhibition, the Museum is hosting a variety of harp guitar-related events!

Art Rhythm & Wine At The Forum

The Forum Carlsbad and West Coast Artists present the Third Annual Art Rhythm & Wine Festival to be held at The Forum Carlsbad on Saturday, October 14, 11am-7pm, and Sunday, October 15, 11am-6pm. This free, juried show will feature more than 50 exceptional artists and craftsmen offering high quality original artwork from throughout the Western United States.

Complementing the art show, the event will also feature a wine garden with a variety of quality wines for sale and food will also be available for purchase. Non-stop live bands and a DJ will perform throughout the festival including the Clay Colton Band, The Mar Del Boys and The Jazz Pigs.

Carlsbad Celebrates Oktoberfest October 7

Surf Legends To Be Honored In Carlsbad

The California Surf Museum in Oceanside, California is bringing some surf royalty to Carlsbad when they hold their 10th Annual Gala at Carlsbad’s Cape Rey Hilton on October 28, 2017. The event will honor Gerry “Mr. Pipeline” Lopez, Jericho Poppler, and Reef co-founder and International Surfing Association President Fernando Aguirre. If these names ring any bells, and you’d like to spend an evening with them and other surfing greats without leaving Carlsbad, then click the link to purchase some tickets. Tickets are $150 each and include dinner, entertainment, and the chance to bid on amazing surf items in silent and live auctions, all in support of the Surf Museum.

Laurel Canyon Comes To Carlsbad

Join author Michael Walker on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Carlsbad’s Dove Library as he discusses his book Laurel Canyon: The Inside Story of Rock-and-Roll’s Legendary Neighborhood and shares the inside story of an unprecedented gathering of musical talent in Laurel Canyon during the 60s and 70s. Over thirty years later, the canyon’s eclectic hits continue to have immense influence on pop culture and the music industry.
