Lnf22I-B78814238Z.120110626142101000Gt810A2Q5.2We’re not really sure how all the beauty pageants work, but Noelle Freeman, 21, of Carlsbadistan has won the title of Miss California and a $10,000 scholarship, according to a story in the Orange County Register.

When she won she didn’t even hear her name called, she said. “I kept looking down at my sash to make sure it was actually happening,” said Freeman, who graduated Chapman as a double major in communications and advertising/public relations.

So, let’s get this straight–a girl from Carlsbad (and former Miss Teen World), going to school Orange, competes as Miss Culver City and wins Miss California. Apparently, when she competed in the 2009 Miss California Pageant as Miss City of Orange things didn’t go so well.

Not sure what Freeman, who just graduated from Chapman University with a double major in popular pageant degrees “communications and advertising/public relations” will do with her scholarship money, but she will definitely represent the state in the 2012 Miss America pageant in Las Vegas in January. Which it would appear she’s been preparing for for years.
