The week of August 1, 2011 Carlsbad’s national dance competition award winning Lancer Dancers will be sharing some of their deep dance skills with young dancers grades K-7 during Jr. Lancer Dancer Summer Camp.

Team Co-Captain, Camille Posard shares her theory on success, “Last year we were the Cinderella Story winning the National Championship with 8 rookies on the team and 5 freshmen, but it was hard work and determination not experience that made it possible. We will be sharing what we learned with the dancers at camp this summer”. . . . The Lancer Dancers are excited to be able to share their dance skills, choreography, and teamwork with other young dancers during this week of camp. Their goal for the camp is to inspire others with their love of dance, but more importantly, how teamwork, dedication, and hard work can take you just about anywhere that you set your sights on! Lancer Dancer, Katie Park, describes how camp is about more than dance, “Young dancers will not only learn dances, but leadership qualities and discipline that help you succeed in other aspects of life.”

All the five-day camp requires the will to dance and a $100 donation to the Lancer Dancers. For more information click here and/or follow the jump.THE CARLSBAD LANCER DANCERS WANT YOU!

Qualifying, competing and placing in a national dance competition takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and team work! The Carlsbad Lancer Dancers found just the right mix of all three and placed 1st in the nation at the 2011 National Dance Competition this year. The team would like to share that recipe for success with aspiring younger dancers this summer at their 1st annual, Jr Lancer Dancer, Dance Camp!

For a $100.00 donation, this weeklong camp, starting on August 1, will begin at 9:00am and end at 12:00 each day. The dancers will be grouped by age and skill level and begin each morning with a warm up, skill building, and learn a dance to be performed at the end of the session, on Friday, August 5. While team work and practice will be reinforced, laughing, having fun and enjoying dance will be a big part of the end result.

“This camp is one of the many fund-raisers needed to get the Carlsbad Lancer Dancers to the 2012 National Competition. Dedication, hard work, and dancing are only part of the equation to get a National Title, you also need to get the team to Orlando, Florida”, said Lancer Dancer Coach, Laura Nares, “We are so grateful for the community support we get at all our fundraisers, because without it the team just couldn’t go!” There will be several other events this coming season that the Lancer Dancers will be sponsoring to continue their quest for their next title, in Orlando, Florida, February 2012.
