Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation Gala 2012

The theme of the annual Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation Discovery Gala, to be held May 19, 2012, will be Discover The Magic. The gala will feature food from The Canyons Restaurant, Carlsbad Aquafarm, Carlsbad Chocolate Bar, Carlsbad Edible Arrangements, Hapi Sushi, Kings Fish House, Red Oven – Artisanal Pizza, Vigilucci’s, and The Village Bistro.

The Fabulous Pelicans will get you out on the dance floor, and the evening will include a silent and live auction, with a special feature from Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary Owl Box project with a child-decorated priceless owl box for one lucky winner. This magical evening includes an exclusive appearance by Project Wildlife’s own resident owl, a magicians “wand off”, the long awaited unveiling of the Donor Wall by Artist Michael Leach…..and guests will compete in a wand decorating contest for a chance to win a prize.

The price for the evening’s festivities is $85 for members, $125 for prospective members. The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation, a non-profit 501©(3), operates the Discovery Center, an extraordinary collection of hands-on nature activities that allow visitors a “taste of nature”, experiencing both the lagoon and the ecological reserve in Carlsbad. Located on the eastern end of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon, the Discovery Center is an amazing teaching hub for all of North County, and is open 6 days a week. This beautiful community nature center hosts an award -winning Environmental Education School Program, as well as lectures, bird walks, festivals and events throughout the year.
