A hazardous materials spill and resulting fire at what we call the “old vitamin factory” on Tyler Street closed four square blocks of Barrio Carlsbad Wednesday, April 11, 2012.

Carlsbad Police had Tyler and Roosevelt Streets closed between Pine Ave. and Chestnut Ave. in the mid afternoon and had still not opened at 5:30 PM while Carlsbad Fire Department Hazardous Material crews worked to clean up. For more photos, follow the jump.
