Carlsbad’s RyGuy Kicking It In Ireland

by The Editors on July 16, 2008

Carlsbad soccer player Ryan Guy, 23, is reportedly “making a name for himself in the Irish Premier Division,” according to a story on Yanks Abroad.

Guy has shown a nose for the goal, bagging 4 goals already this season. The 23 year old debuted in April of 2007 for the Irish club, after a professional stint with the Southern California Fusion of the National Professional Soccer League, the US’ fourth tier.

He’s also getting used to living in Ireland.

“It’s hard for me to believe I’ve been here a year and a half already. It was rough and tumble, frustrating to say the least for the first five months or so when I was going through the work permit process and unable to get on the pitch. When it did finally go through however, I was fortunate to put in good performances when questions were asked of me.
