While out cruising The Village this morning, we saw this Toyota FJ Cruiser parked in someone’s driveway (click the image to see if full size).
The more we looked at it, the more it appeared to be complete farce. Does someone who supports John McCain and Sarah Palin really put the words “Drill here/Bomb There” on the hood of their car? Do they believe that a vote for Obama equals more Osama? Are they actually encouraging people not to vote?
Or is this entire rig designed as subterfuge to make people think that McCain/Palin supporters are total and complete lunatics?
We’re guessing the later.

“America-Hating Obama Voters Drive Foreign Cars”
Oh, what’s that? Er, never mind.
I think it’s reverse psychology / satire to keep Democrats from becoming overly confident that Obama has it sewed up to the point that they don’t bother to vote. Anything that lowers turn-out hurts No-on-8, other Democrats running, in addition to Obama.
The give-away: “Democrats Stay Home Nov 4” . A true Obama-hater would try to turn voters from Obama to McCain rather than intimidate them to stay home.
I fear this is the real thing and not farce. While it’s funny to those of us who realize how ridiculous the charges McCain/Palin makes against Obama really are, sadly, the people who believe them, REALLY believe them.
I’ve had conversations with people who use these exact words and are completely and wholly sincere.
Scary, scary world we live in…
