Said To Drive #21 in Centurion

by The Editors on August 12, 2007

SenglenCarlsbad’s own NASCAR driver Boris Said (of the No Fear team) was in the process of sitting out Sunday’s Centurion Boats at the Glen race thanks to a qualifying “rain-out” at Watkins Glen International when Said reportedly ran into #21 car driver Bill Elliot in the garage.

“Hey man, you should be driving my car,” Elliott said to Said, who was locked out of Sunday’s Centurion Boats at the Glen when qualifying was rained out Friday. As he walked to his Busch car, Said smiled and responded, “Sure, no problem, I’ll drive” . . . Elliott marched into the Wood Brothers/JTG Racing hauler and asked team co-owners Eddie and Len Wood if they would allow him to give up his seat in the No. 21 Ford to Said.

Elliot believes Said will be able to lift the number 21 car up in the rankings if he has a strong finish.
